Team Stevenson made a big comeback late in this one to keep themselves in the top half of the league, pulling out a 234-point win in game four. For the most part Team Stevenson had a solid night, with the top three averaging 240. The most notable would be Erik Stewart (948) at leadoff, even more impressive when you consider a second game 163 thrown in the mix The other big total from their team was Jayden Nickerson (1022) posting his biggest night of the season, taking the win over Alyssa Campbell (915). Those kinds of numbers a big ask for any team to try and fend off, Team Cook tried but, ran out of gas towards the end of the night only managing 799 in the last game. It was unfortunate Team Cook could not better utilize a big night from captain Trevor Cook (1145), his best of the season, giving his team 5 points and a 305-pin lead. Match #2 – Rodych (7) vs. Hurd (24)
Team Hurd continues their trend of early schedule success with another big win over Team Rodych, making them 4-0 to start the second half. After a slow start in game 1, Team Hurd was unbeatable shooting over 1000 in each of the last three games and only losing one individual game in that span. This week both Ryan Bannerman (855) and Brett Hendrickson (1079) extended their personal winning streaks to four weeks. Brett’s 1079 is a season best and hands Lexie Sutherland (871) her first loss as a member of Team Rodych. After a rough couple weeks captain Chad Hurd (1035) stepped up in a big way, with a 298-pin victory over Carter Schade (737). At anchor Matt Rodych (936) is starting to get back into his old form, and in the process handed Kevin Naugler (891) his first losing week of 2022.

Team King had a solid bounce back week putting them back into the hunt for A-side. You would think it would be positive for Team Devenney to now hold a season high, unfortunately it’s the season high for consecutive losses with ten in a row. The top two matchups were very close for total with Chris Fedorchuk (786) edging out Neil Stewart (767) and Patrick Walker (838) squeaking out three points versus Mike Devenney (820). Holly Chaikowski (969) seems to be finding her stride the past few weeks putting up a season high total, which was unfortunately met with a season night from Karen Armstrong (1089), resulting in only a single point for Holly. On the opposite side of the spectrum, the anchor matchup saw Wayne King (807) shoot a season low total, which was capitalized on by Jennifer Devenney (830).

Team Lourenco puts up another solid week handing Team Cousins their third loss of the second half. This match featured three individual game ties, the most in any match this season. Neither anchor in this match had a strong night, but Cindy Cousins (855) grinded out the win over Belle Lourenco (829), putting extra pressure on Team Lourenco to carry themselves to the win. The top three came in clutch having a very well-rounded night as a whole. Both leadoff Dave Duncan (849) and second Tabatha Gelardi (820) had consistent nights taking a combined six points off Lana Wachal (756) and Shannon Pruden (777). A big factor in the match tonight was Ethan Buckman (1035) with a season high, getting back to where we generally expect to see him, taking a large win over Dixie (898).

Match #5 – Bartram (13) vs. C. Jeffers (18)
Team C. Jeffers stays true to their word of being a top eight team in the second half picking yet another win, this time over Team Bartram. Team Bartram can also take a small positive away that this was their best week yet this half, however still looking for their first win. The top three positions basically resulted in an even total. Al Bristow (789) had a strong finish to his night giving him the win over Derek Sanderson (705). Chris Jeffers (798) nearly completed the comeback against Willy Starr (809) who attempted to give Chris the night with a game four 124. Tim Hooper (881) once again had a good night worthy of third spot, but ran into an even better night from Mark Goldsworthy (957). The big difference in this match came at anchor where Craig Klassen (1082) made a strong sparing debut, beating the opposing captain Jeston Bartram (815) by 267 pins. The difference in team totals was 264 pins, 3550- 3286.

This was a fairly close match, no one really ran away with their matchup. Team Gelardi however swept all the individual totals giving them a strong hold on grand total for the night. Dwight Hurd (793) fell just short of making a comeback despite a 304-187 win over Mitch Dubell (819) in the final game. Wayne Wolanski (790) at second was able to pull off the comeback though, making up nearly 70 pins in game four to edge out Garry Bell (784). Going into the last two game Craig Enns (747) had a small lead, but handed it on a silver platter to Robbie Hendrickson (816), shooting a paltry 336 double to finish. At the anchor spot both bowlers had similar nights. Dwayne Gelardi (998) had a 583 double to start with a 415 doubel to finish, while Glen Howarth (955) had a 552 double to start but cooled off to a 403 double to finish.

Match #7 – LaMonica (27) vs. Youzwa (4)
The biggest slaughter of the night came from none other than the league leaders, Team LaMonica. However, I don’t think anyone saw them handing a top five team like Team Youzwa while barely breaking a sweat. This puts Team LaMonica back into the hunt for the second half after a slow start. Only a single matchup was within 100 pins and that was the anchors, with Sam Gelardi (957) besting Colton Youzwa (922) in three out of four games. Once again Cyndie Barnett (928) put up one of the highest totals of any leadoff this week. Jeff Bradshaw (825) did not have a flashy night but took advantage of substandard night from Jenna Gillrie (719). At the third position Andrew LaMonica (1002) dominated Chloe Fleming (850), specifically in the second and third game, winning by a combined 202 pins.

Team Orne once again put up a very strong night, showing why they deserve to be called one of the top teams in the league, controlling the match against a fellow top team in Team B. Jeffers. In the questionably wise words of himself, Scott Saunderson (654) needed some diapers cause he clearly sh*t himself last week, posting a notably low week and getting run over by a great night from Jennifer Duncan (895). At second position David Wastle (952) continued throwing bombs as he seems to have really found his rhythm of late. Ben Jeffers (839) had Linda Orne (867) on the ropes after three games but let the matchup slip through his fingers with a game four 158, leaving room for Linda to sweep in and steal total. The lone bowler on Team B. Jeffers to win their total was Tyson Nelson (1100) handedly beating up on Janna Van Welleghem (875) all evening.
